  • Susan Richardson

    Founder & Strategist

    A true passion for big picture envisioning and detail oriented execution is what drives Susan. She combines her experience in project management, marketing and creative design to spear-head a cohesive and well-managed strategic process. She has worked with many international brands as well a range of companies in the corporate sector.

    Susan launched Shift Strategy + Design in 2008 after many years in corporate sales and marketing on the 'other side of the fence.' Susan's role as Strategist and Project Manager involves being aware of how tactics will affect client operations as well as the customer experience.  She has a proven ability to transition goals and objectives into tangible results.

    Creative Director

    Cam is a conceptual thinker and a dedicated branding and design professional with experience in all aspects of the design world. He has been the driver of Shift's creative process since 2008. He and his team formulate the innovative concepts that are the cornerstone of telling your brand's story.

    Cam has contributed in the planning and creative development of leading local and international brands. His continuous and passionate pursuit of excellence and efficiency in both his career and personal life is an invaluable asset to every project he works on.

  • Louise Raffa

    Content / Communications Strategist

    A content strategist and storyteller with over 20 years of business and non-profit experience, Louise’s strength is helping our clients find ways to inspire, connect and build relationships with their audiences.

    Louise was Reconciliation Canada’s strategic counsel for marketing as well as a senior writer and video content producer for companies such as Hootsuite and Vision Critical.

    As a member of the Shift team Louise has been instrumental in developing key messages and foundation language for the West Coast N.E.S.T. education tourism website and Tourism Tofino among other clients.

  • Janice Keyes

    Public + Communications Specialist

    Janice has over twenty-five years of experience creating effective, unique and memorable stakeholder engagement and events. She has implemented and managed a wide variety of programs and events – from traditional press conferences to large-scale community festivals, from comprehensive public consultation programs to strategic planning sessions.

    Janice works with local and regional governments and First Nations, provincial ministries, international corporations, professional associations, community groups and not-for-profit agencies to create opportunities for clients to engage their membership, project stakeholders and the general public in a meaningful way.

    Copywriting + Communications

    With a rare combination of marketing and copywriting expertise, Susie brings a strategic writing spin and distinctive style to every project. From hotels and resorts to real estate developments, Susie has helped shape stories for many Shift clients since 2008.

    Susie approaches each writing project from a 'customer experience' perspective, understanding who your ideal customers are and what makes them tick. From there, she crafts engaging conversations through copy that speaks to them, telling your brand story.

    Senior Designer

    Susan has a wealth of experience from working in small boutique firms to managing studios and implementing new brands for multinational corporations. This experience, along with her creative drive, attention to detail and collaborative nature, ensures work of the highest quality that exceeds client expectations. Her conscientious approach has seen her work tabled at the UN and receive recognition from the Canadian Alcuin book society.

    Social Media Guru
    We like to say that Mirae is a talented photographer sometimes, and a social media whiz the rest of the time!  Her background in photography has meshed seamlessly with the rise of the digital era and particularly social media marketing as an essential tactic for brand storytelling.
    She effortlessly balances the goals of our clients with an authentic voice and the real face of their brand. From West Coast NEST’s transformational edu-tourism messaging, to executing on point, results-driven contests for our hotel clients, and  her work promoting outdoor retail culture, Mirae delivers the goods on social media for Shift.
  • Nancy Grant

    Art Buyer

    As an art buyer, Nancy Grant uses a combination of her interpretive eye and her knowledge of current photography and illustration trends to find imagery for commercial use. In a nutshell, Nancy helps Shift find the right artist for each campaign concept. 

    On a typical project Nancy will take on two roles; assisting the creative team to establishing imagery requirements for a particular campaign and sourcing the right artwork. She also takes on project management roles while negotiating prices, establishing rights and organizing production logistics. 

  • Robert Postma

    Programmer / Digital Media
    Robert's experience includes extensive editing in both HD and SD formats, graphic design, DVD authoring, post- production audio layback. He uses Final Cut Pro X edit system and Adobe After Effects for graphic compositing, tracking as well as colour correcting. He is also proficient with Adobe Suite, Cinema4D, and motion tracking and colour correcting packages.

    Robert has collaborated on a wide range of projects with clients such as CTC, DestinationBC, Tourism Vancouver, Globe Foundation, BC Ministry of Health, APEGBC, Orca Creative and the Gibson Group.

Sue is a maestro to the well-tuned Shift team. She led us in a process of self-discovery, creating a brand and identity that tells our unique story. As a small non-profit, I can trust her knowledge and experience to help us put our best face forward. We are thrilled with all of the deliverables and our new presence in the world.
